In the center of the square (Plaça des Sabater) we can see the monument dedicated to the shoemakers, a profession of the majority of the city’s inhabitants until the 70’s. Made in Santanyi stone, typical of the island. The monument represent diferent scenes of the trade. The sculptor was Thomás Vila and was inaugurated on August 10, 1963.

At the top of the square we find S’Abeurador Rodona, which, as it’s name suggest, is round in shape. The fountain is made of limestone, has three meter in diameter and, as the only ornamentation, has a column of stone. Orginally, it was a watering hole for mules and horses. In the year 1916, the city council made a series of modifications, installing some taps turning it into a public fountain. In 1963, the square was renovated and the trough was removed, until in 1919 it was relocated to it’s orginial place.

The statue of ”S’Espigolera”, made in bronze in 1965 by the sculptor Horacio de Eguía, is a tribute to Maria Antonia Salvá, poet of the city of Llucmajor.

Ancient defense tower located in the Pantaleu neighborhood of the town of Andratx.

The towers of es Racó des Murter date back to the beginning of the 19th century, and it is one of the few tuna fishing towers in Mallorca, and that is precisely the reason for its uniqueness and exclusivity. They remained in operation until the second half of the 20th century, and as stated in the book 'Historia de Andraig', it was key in 1828 when the rector of Andratx intended to carry out a reform and move the organ of the church, which was impossible from an economic point of view. Then the fishermen offered him a day of fishing for all the boats, and when they arrived at Racó des Murter they found the sea incredibly full of tuna, and it was impossible to catch them all. Large sales were made, not only in Andratx but also in Palma and Barcelona as well as other towns, and enough money was collected to finish the proposed works in the church. Event that has been marked with images of tuna painted on the organ of the Church of Andratx.
