When planning what to do in Fornalutx, it is important to keep in mind that the main attraction is getting lost in the village to soak up its charm. Wandering through the narrow, steep cobblestone streets you will come across little stone houses with red roofs surrounded by orange and lemon trees that hover around the Sóller Valley.
Situated slightly inland in the agricultural region of Pla de Mallorca, Muro is a traditional rural village, which also manages the small resort of Playa de Muro. This picturesque village, with its sandstone buildings and old church, is a typical example of traditional Mallorca. Muro dates back to the year 1232, with the Christian conquest; its meaning is literally, wall or rampart. As a token of gratitude for helping finance the war, moneylenders were allowed to settle here. That made Muro a wealthy and privileged town, and traces of it still remain. Today, Muro relies on tourism and agriculture and is situated in the area known as the 'vegetable basket' of Mallorca. It is on the fertile plain, or 'Pla', which has a rich farming tradition that still continues today. Many fresh products and a thriving wine industry can be found in this area.
The municipality of Ses Salines is one of the most charming places that we can find on the island. One of those different places that deserve to be visited if we choose to travel to Mallorca. It was baptized as Ses Salines in honor to the numerous ponds to elaborate salt that are in the municipality. The salt pans of s'Avall are located 7km from the village of Ses Salines, in Colònia de Sant Jordi, and are considered one of the oldest in the world as they date from the time of Roman domination. One of its peculiarities is that salt is still collected in a traditional way. Ses Salines is located in the southern part of the island of Mallorca, 54 km from Palma. This Majorcan municipality belongs to the region of Migjorn. It contains, besides the municipal capital, the coastal tourist nucleus of Colònia de Sant Jordi, the village of Ca's Perets and the salt mines of Sa Vall. This municipality occupies the southern part of the island; it has a triangular shape and two of its sides are bathed by the sea. The terrain forms successive undulations that give it a pleasant topography; small hills here and there rise up and between them fertile plains are formed with numerous orchards and almond groves. The coast has beautiful coves and an old port, today Colònia de Sant Jordi. The village is located on a hill that gives it an exceptional situation. From there we can contemplate the sea shore and the island of Cabrera and its islets.
Sineu is one of the oldest villages, located in the center of Mallorca in the Pla region. Its streets take us back to the Middle Ages, with centuries-old traditional buildings. On Wednesdays along the main streets of the town, the weekly market is held. It has a very ancient origin, already documented in 1252 and retains its peasant and artisan character. The annual fair of Sineu, the first Sunday of May created in 1319, is an important event in the calendar of fairs in the rural world of Mallorca. Some of its old buildings house small hotels, which allow you to enjoy a vacation away from the crowds of the main tourist centers of Mallorca by the sea, which in any case is never far from any corner of the island. In the center of Sineu there are a few old cellers, the traditional restaurants of Majorca, where you can taste the Majorcan gastronomy in an environment full of history.

The name Petra itself illustrates the particularities of the village. The Roman settlers symbolized with a stone the main essence of this place and still today, after almost twenty centuries, the same image serves to define the physical and human landscape of the town. Petra brings together all the basic and common ingredients of the villages of the Pla: a plain of fertile land interrupted by small elevations. In the case of Petra, the Puig de Bonany is the counterpoint that breaks the horizontality of the area and the places from where you can admire a good part of Mallorca, the Plan, the Tramontana mountain range and the Bay of Alcúdia. This exceptional viewpoint has always been the historical-social and religious reference of the Petrers, the point around which the life of the people has revolved so that in the Puig was found the Mother who has protected the crops and the health of the population. Petra is a rural village of great agricultural and livestock activity until the very recent past, which is testified by the mills that still exist, by the possessions such as Son Mieres, Son Santandreu, Los Cabanells Viejos and Ses Cabanasses and for the craftsmen's trades dedicated to the manufacture and maintenance of traditional agricultural machinery. The other main activity of the village has been the extraction of sandstone and construction material. It is also an important endavament of communication routes with other towns of the Plan and the east of the island, and this has facilitated the socioeconomic relations with these regions.
Agriculture has been the main wealth of the village for centuries, as evidenced by the thirty-six windmills that are still preserved and the good number of possessions such as Sa Torre, Son Lluís, Es Pagos, Se Monjes, Son Porquer or Sa Bastida. The quality of the land is suitable for cereals, almond trees and vines. In some periods saffron has also been cultivated and the production of apricots has been for decades the activity for which Porreres has distinguished notably. Sandstone and stone, basic materials of the various religious monuments that stand throughout Porreres, are also identifying symbols of the town and have served as an alternative to the current stagnation of the agricultural sector. The sandstone and stone, basic materials of the various religious monuments that stand throughout Porreres, are also identifying symbols of the town and have served as an alternative to the current stagnation of the agricultural sector. Monti-Sion is a must-see mountain because it is a splendid viewpoint over the region and the Migjorn de Mallorca. It is the chosen scenario for festivities and traditions, sacred place and seat of knowledge where centuries ago the future university students of rural Mallorca learned Latin. The Porrerenca people and their character still have a reputation for being enterprising and determined, determined to achieve whatever they set out to do, qualities that made them the protagonists of a revolt in the last century and allowed them to fertilize the road to Monti-Sion in a single day. This capacity for struggle and voluntarism has also been reflected in culture and the arts.
