Pelaires Gallery is dedicated to the exhibition and representation of international artists, whose works are shown for the first time in Mallorca and, usually, also in Spain. At the same time, it promotes and carries out projects of young and mid-career artists. To this end, it develops a rigorous and constantly renewed program in collaboration with curators and critics. At the same time, Pelaires proposes a project that is close and committed to the territory in which it is located, a place with a strong international presence. The objective of Pelaires is to make room for the work of contemporary creators who reflect the current scene, with its complexity and multidisciplinarity, although they do so from very diverse languages and aesthetic proposals. The Pelaires Gallery was founded in Palma in 1969 by Pep Pinya. In 1990 it moved from Pelaires street to the emblematic historical building of the 17th century where it is currently located. The space has two floors that house exhibitions throughout the year.
Since December 2006 the Gallery SKL (SkyistheLimit) has occupied the exhibition space that used to belong to La Resistència de l’Art.
The Galería Soura Art has been located in the old quarter of Palma since 2007. They also have an exhibition centre called Gallery Rackey located in the German city of Bad Honnef and founded 23 years ago.
The museum occupies the ground floor of the old manor house of Can Planes, rehabilitated in 1998. Its permanent collection is made up of over one hundred works by artists from Mallorca or resident in Mallorca, covering all styles and techniques in contemporary sculptural media. Alternatively, the museum organises temporary exhibitions of its own creation or else in collaboration with other institutions, museums and cultural centres. Guided tours are also available. Attached to the museum, the so-called Sala Blanca (White Room), also offers temporary themed exhibitions as well as sculptural exhibitions which due to their characteristics and format are not appropriate for the Contemporary Art Museum spaces. Several private institutions collaborate with the museum.

Upon entering Can Cardaix the first thing that invades us is the sensation of having been transported back in time. We are in an environment of 900 m2 visitable, spread over two floors, which has not been altered over time and has not suffered the impact of mass tourism. We begin to savor the atmosphere and traditions of a Mediterranean, hospitable and vital people: the Majorcan. Can Cardaix is also the birthplace of the artist Aina Maria Lliteras, the woman after whom the Foundation is named. A native of Artá, she is one of the most significant and recognized living artists of the current artistic scene, both in painting and in other techniques of the plastic arts. In 2002, she created a center-school for the promotion of creativity and an annual international art competition is held in her name. Can Cardaix has been adapted to visitors and offers a tour that takes us from the sixteenth century to the present. In the imperial staircase we find Lliteras' masterpiece, measuring 32 m2, which is also a philosophical study and which is placed on the ceiling. Then we will parade through a series of halls and rooms, the ballroom, rose, Solomonic, Alfonsina, Elizabethan, among others as well as see altarpieces, paridoras chairs etc.. We finish our tour resting in the cafeteria and we will be able to buy some souvenirs of cultural type in the store of the foundation. To accompany the visit, there are information panels in each of the rooms. In addition, explanations are offered to tour guides who are interested in learning more directly about the artist, activities, the building and the objectives and artistic collections of the Foundation. On the first floor is the point of sale of tickets as well as the small store of the Foundation where we find a catalog with photographs of the building and the artistic collection of the Foundation, as well as an explanation of the work GIRO Constante around the whole of Aina Maria Lliteras. Guided tours are given in Catalan, Spanish, English and German. The duration of the visit has a certain elasticity with a minimum of 20 minutes. The current exhibition space is approximately 900 square meters. The Foundation also offers the possibility of renting its spaces to organize cultural events.
The building is also unique in its interior for its versatility as it can function as a theater space, for conferences or congresses or also for concerts thanks to its retractable bleachers that leaves a clean courtyard for spectators. In recent years, the theater has become a reference point for "indie" and alternative music with concerts of nationally renowned groups. It also has a regular theater program for all ages.
