Formentor lighthouse
Viewpoint | PollençaThe northernmost point of Mallorca is a place of outstanding natural beauty that has served as inspiration for many artists. The Formentor headland, along with Cavall Bernat in Cala Sant Vicenç, is one of the most photographed and portrayed places on the island. What's more, Pollença's most famous poet Miquel Costa i Llobera (1), whose family lived on this headland, was inspired by this place to write his iconic poem 'The Pine Tree of Formentor' (2). Since 1959, the Hotel Formentor (3) has been host to the 'Literary Conversations in Formentor', a gathering of leading authors set in motion by Spanish Nobel Prize winner Camilo José Cela and attended by writers such as Vicente Aleixandre, Gerardo Diego, Blas de Otero, José Hierro, Carlos Fuentes and José Saramago, to name just a few. The lighthouse that can be seen at this point, standing 210 metres above sea level, was opened in 1863 as part of the coastal lighting scheme to provide greater safety for boats sailing off Mallorcan shores at night. But of all the lighthouses built back in the days, the Formentor one proved the most difficult due to its location in one of the island's most rugged and isolated places, which on the other hand allows you to enjoy the highest focal plane in Mallorca.

Breathtaking! Even though the road is challenging, it's totally worth it! The car park is rather small for the amount of people driving there, but there's also a bus available.

Beautiful scenery and location, but the road getting there is not for the faint of heart. Also parking can be difficult if not there early.

Ich hatte mir die Aussicht noch ein bisschen spektakulärer vorgestellt. Ist ok aber definitiv nie am Sonntag morgen fahren! Halb Mallorca meint auf dem Rennrad den Berg hochfahren zu müssen.
Los mejores atardeceres que se pueden ver en Mallorca, magico....

You have to get there by bus or bike because for car is closed from 10am to 7pm.
Lohnt sich trotz langen Anstehens für einen Parkplatz auf jeden Fall. Atemberaubender Ausblick...
Tolle Aussicht! Leider sehr überfüllt,sodass die Besucher ihre Autos schon auf der schmalen Anfahrtstrasse stehen haben lassen. Folge war teilweise etwas Chaos auf der Straße. Aber wir waren ja in Urlaub und deswegen tiefenentspannt.... ;-)

Merece la pena acercarse a este lugar, para contemplar los acantilados y parar de camino en uno de los miradores más bonito es colomers, eso sí ir temprano ya que el parking no es muy grande para la cantidad de gente que se pasa por éste lugar.
La puesta de sol ☀ es espectacular, es obligación verla

Il faro di per se non è nulla di particolare. Ma vale la pena arrivarci perché il paesaggio lungo la strada ripaga. Continui cambi di paesaggi tra bosco e mare. Se c'è troppa gente causa pochi parcheggi l'attesa per arrivare fino al faro potrebbe essere lunga. Infatti la strada finisce al faro.
