Cala Blanca or es Castellot is situated at eight kilometres from Calvià, between sa Punta des Gats and Punta des Castellot, and next to Platja Monte de Oro, also known as Costa de la Calma, the name of the surrounding village. The name es Castellot of this beach is given by a nearby atalaya-tower which has the same name. This impressive defence fortress was built in the 18th century and it is made of marès (the sandstone which is very popular on the Balearic Islands since hundreds of years ago). Two guns are still preserved. You will only be able to see the exterior facade of this military building because it is a private property and visiting it is not allowed. This sea inlet finishes on a beach with pebbles and gravel, surrounded by some low rocky areas on the sides on which some huge touristic buildings can be seen. You are not recommended to anchor a boat in front of its coast because of the presence of sandbanks. At 0,2 nautical miles there is Club Nàutic Santa Ponça. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs until Santa Ponça. Then you have to look for the junction of calle Ramon de Moncada and Huguet des Far. Here there are some stairs that descend to this stony area for one hectometre. The private car can be left for free in the streets in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located at 100 metres.
