Art Galleries | ValldemossaThe Coll Bardolet Cultural Foundation's main goals are to preserve, exhibit and publicise Josep Coll Bardolet's work and the Foundation's private collection, as well as promote the Fine Arts in general. The Coll Bardolet Cultural Foundation is located in a three-storey building in the centre of Valldemossa, 17 km from Palma. Painter Coll Bardolet (Campdevànol, Gerona 1912-Valldemossa 2007) settled in this fetching village at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains in the early 1940s. Like many other artists, he was captivated by Mallorca's scenery, light and folklore and wished to bequeath part of his work and private artwork collection so that residents and visitors alike could enjoy them. Aside from exhibiting the Foundation's own collection, other cultural activities are sponsored to promote the Fine Arts. The Balearic Islands Government, Mallorca Council and Valldemossa Town Council all collaborate with the Foundation.
